Partnership in the projekt "Learning about Human Rights"

Association ‘’Obrazovanje gradi Bosnu i Hercegovinu“ (Education builds Bosnia and Herzegovina), starting from the socio-political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the rights of people (adults, young people and children) are violated, looks for the answer on several questions such as: What are human rights, how are they achieved, what can we do as individuals and what can society do for the rights of all people to be equally respected?

Lately, by the work of non-governmental associations and through media, many activities on promotion and protection of human rights have started. Besides that, it has to be noticed that human rights are not respected as they should be.

Project which is realized during 2008, by the name of “Let's learn about human rights“ presents the attempt to educate representatives of social groups, on this topic. These representatives belong to social groups whose rights are being jeopardized the most. In this project, those are women, children and minorities.

During implementation of the project, through lectures, interview, workshop, test and roundtables participants learn about human rights, what they actually are, how they developed through history, what is the current situation on this issue in our country, and what is the situation in the world, how can people accomplish their rights, what is the role of the country, and what is the role of civil society in the promotion and protection of human rights.

Lecturers are experts in the field of human rights from our country, activists in nongovernmental organizations, and people who on their own fight to accomplish their rights.

The Project is implemented in Tuzla, Visoko and Sarajevo, in partnership with CIVITAS, Association “Amica Educa“ Tuzla, Association “Gipsy youth initiative“, “Be my friend“ Visoko and more than100 participants will take part in realization of project activities.

Project is financially supported by Switzerland Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the association is grateful for that. At the same time, support for us means the motive to keep up the mission – children the victims of war – our eternal concern.
